The Graduate Program in Visual Arts PPGAV-UFBA aims to continue strengthening research in the State of Bahia and the constant growth of its bibliographic, artistic and technical production. To this end, its general objective is to qualify professionals to work in teaching and advanced research in History and Theory of Art, Artistic Creation Processes and the integration of Art and Design, contributing to teaching and to the regional, cultural and social development of Brazil.
The other objectives are:
1) To foster the development of research in visual arts by promoting the construction of knowledge on relevant topics in the History and Theory of Art, Artistic Creation Processes and the integration of Art and Design.
2) To disseminate the results achieved by disseminating knowledge of the research carried out.
3) To promote the growth of research in the Northeast Region, through the artistic and scientific production developed at PPGAV UFBA.
4) To maintain a number of permanent faculty members, in order to increase the diversity of training and approaches of the faculty.
